Climate
prepare your visit
In Benahavís, as in all Costa del Sol, the main climate is Mediterranean, characterised by mild winters with irregular rain and dry, hot, and sunny summers.
The average annual temperature is 21º C approximately, and over 320 days of sun per year, being January the coldest month and August the hottest. The last days of winter are normally marked by nice temperatures that invite us to enjoy the terraces, practice outdoor sports and do walks in the countryside. In October, even in November, there are some brave ones out there that still use the outdoor pools.
Most of the rain falls between November and February, but even the wettest months rarely have more than five rainy days on a row with occasional showers.
Summer in Benahavís welcome us with hot temperatures and 12 hours of sun per day; it hardly rains in summer. At night, the temperature drops to 18 °C to 20 °C, which is why it is wonderful to sit “al fresco” and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of a clean sky full of stars.

What do I wear?
If you worry about what to put in your suitcase, consider that in Benahavís it doesn´t rain much and the temperatures are mild all year round. Take with you light cotton clothes, short skirts, trousers, and dresses, as these will be your best companions in summer months. Please notice that Benahavís is in a natural area with lots of vegetation where we have kept the charm of the cobbled streets, which is why you should consider using comfortable shoes, flat if possible.
Puerto Banús is the chic and trendy area of Marbella, and it is only 15 minutes away from the town centre of Benahavís; here you would probably like to wear a more sophisticated attire. Whether you want to dine in Benahavís, go to a party in a luxurious hotel or visit the surrounding areas, you will need the appropriate outfit.
Don´t miss the opportunity of visiting the natural landscape that Benahavís has to offer. Paths that follow the rivers´ banks with ponds and waterfalls, walkways between golf courses, or a picnic amongst olive trees for which you will need comfortable shoes and sport clothes.
Consider that Costa del Sol offers a huge number of bars, discos, and restaurants where you will need formal clothes to enter.
